BSL Teaching Assistant ( Level 3) – Hodge Hill – Long Term

Here at Aspire People we are recruiting for Teaching Assistants to work with students that are deaf or have speech, language and communication needs for a school in the Hodge Hill area. Some students may Require British Sign Language, whilst others may be hard of hearing and tend to communicate more orally. The Support Assistant role offers a flexible work environment whereby the successful candidate may be placed within a school or residential setting. The Support Assistant will be supporting learners across KS3 – 4

About the Role and School –
BSL Teaching Assistants needed to support students in KS3 – 4 with speech, language and communication needs
Class, 1:1 and small group support roles available
Small class sizes, with a maximum of ten learners per lesson

In order to be considered for this role, the BSL Teaching Assistant you will need to meet the following criteria-
Have recent classroom experience in the UK (minimum of 6 weeks within the past two years is essential)
Previous experience with deaf and British Sign Language
Ideally have experience as a Communication Support Worker
Be qualified to at least Level 2
Have excellent communication as well as strong literacy and numeracy skills
