Aspire People are currently working with a great school based in Birmingham on an exciting new Director of Learning role starting September 2018
Starting from September 2018 the school are looking for an outstanding Director of Learning (previously known as Head of Year) to join them on a full time, permanent basis.
It will be looking after the teaching achievements of 2 year groups, mixture of teaching time table and the development of pupils (this role is greater than an intervention role). The person will have a close contact with the pupils and the parents so they must have excellent communication skills, be calm, concise and positive.
The Director of Learning to develop curriculum material/programmes to enhance learning of the year groups ef: Form time, SMSC
Centralize reporting processes and tracking of teaching and learning reviews: reporting weekly to the SLT on learning out comes and any requirements identified.
To support the pastoral care and the holistic development of students
To work with the Academy’s data specialist to track performance of the year groups assigned. Achievements, attendance. Using intervention strategies to manage and maximise outcomes.
Supporting the SLT on development of teaching and learning programs and outcomes
Managing after school curriculum including parents evening and graduation ceremonies
Supporting year group students through mentoring and developing the student voice
Additional whole school responsibilities at the discretion of the head teacher.
