SEN Early Years Teaching Assistant
Walsall
GBP6.70 – GBP9.50 per hour (depending on experience)

Aspire People are looking to recruit a number of experienced SEN Early Years Teaching Assistant for a mainstream setting in Walsall. If you are experienced in working with ASD (Autism Spectrum Disorder) in a school, specialist or care setting then this could be the perfect opportunity for you.

We are working in partnership with an inclusive, mainstream setting, who is looking for an enthusiastic, hard-working and highly motivated Teaching Assistant to provide to one-to-one support for an identified pupil with Autism (ASD) in Nursery.
The school will require and experienced SEN teaching assistant/ Learning support assistant who is:

*Experienced in supporting pupils with Autism and has a strong understanding of how a pupil’s needs can be met within a mainstream setting
*Must have experience of the Early Years Curriculum and working with small children under 5.
*Be Level 3 qualified or above
*Confident managing challenging behaviour in the classroom and using de-escalation techniques. Team-Teach trained is not essential but would be an advantage.
*Skilled working with pupils with communication difficulties; PECS training would be an advantage but is not essential
*Able to demonstrate the impact you have had on a child’s progress and development.
*Must have experience of the Early Years Curriculum and working with small children under 5.

You would be joining a supportive and welcoming SEN support team, where you would be well supported within your role and development would be highly encouraged. The school serves a diverse catchment area with several students on roll from minority ethnic backgrounds who speak English as an additional language.
