The successful candidate must have strong behaviour management and presence in the classroom.

We work with a wide range of schools ranging from main stream schools, academies and independent schools.
Aspire People are recruiting staff for day to day supply, full/part time, short/long term contracts and permanent work.
The roles and responsibilities for this position includes:
*To be responsible for the education and welfare of the children under your care in accordance with our corporate responsibility for the discipline, well-being, pastoral care and a culture of safeguarding.
*It is the responsibility of all staff to be able to source, understand and apply all school policies appertaining to their particular position
*Working with the pupils either individually or in small groups under the direction of the class teacher to ensure a high standard of physical, emotional, social and intellectual care.
*Preparing equipment and resources for the classroom.
*Undertaking duties which create high standards of hygiene and cleanliness.
*Working pro-actively with all other members of staff to ensure the care and safety of all children.
*Supervising children at break times and during aftercare.
*Assisting at school events and during class outings.
*Being fully involved in the delivery of and having a total awareness of the appropriate curriculum.
*Although this is the prime responsibility of the class teacher, the assistant must aware of each child’s background so that one is able to discuss knowledgeably any concerns with that child’s parents.
*Covering staff in lessons and offering mutual support throughout the pre-prep.
The experience and skills required for this role include:
*Good standard of basic education, equivalent to NVQ 2/3
*Recognised Teaching Assistant qualification
*Experience of working with children who have a wide variety of educational needs
*able to develop good working relationships with colleagues and have the ability to work well within a team whilst promoting the best interests of the school;
*Able to establish and develop close relationships with parents, governors and the community;
*Able to reinforce teaching points during teacher input;
*Able to teach new concepts as agreed with the class teacher;
*Able to model acceptable behaviour;
*Able to provide strategies for spelling, reading and number skills;
*Able to extend children’s thinking skills;
*Able to discuss with children their understanding of learning objectives;
*Able to suggest ways of developing learning;
*Encourage good social skills;
*Liaise with the class teacher;
*Take an active involvement in medium-term planning;
*Sound organisational and administrative skills;
Knowledge and understanding of:
*How children develop
*How children learn and how to motivate them
*Outstanding pastoral care and safeguarding of children
*Curriculum requirements at the appropriate age
*The statutory requirements of legislation concerning Safeguarding Children
*The positive links necessary within school and with all its stakeholders;
*Supporting children with Special Educational Needs;
All candidates who register with Aspire People will have 2 years referencing taken up and will be required to have an enhanced DBS check completed.
All offers are conditional upon satisfactory checks.
