School ICT Technician – Walsall
GBP9.50-GBP10.50 per hour

Aspire People are an established education agency who are looking to recruit experienced School IT Technicians to work within Secondary Schools across Walsall on a long term basis.
The successful applicant will assist the ICT Network Manager with the efficient operation of the school’s ICT systems.
*To assist in the smooth running of the school’s ICT systems.
*To assist in the installation of new and existing software.
*To provide technical support for all users – students and staff.
The successful applicant will have:
*A flexible approach to the job and a desire to ‘make it happen.’
*Moderate physical fitness: part of the job may involve climbing ladders etc (training given).
*Experience working with schools.
*Ability to work well under pressure.
*Good client-facing skills and verbal/written communication skills.
*Education to A-level standard (or equivalent), with a min 5 GCSEs to include Maths, English and ICT. Any IT qualification beyond GCSE (or equivalent).
*Proven technical ability with Microsoft Server 2003+, Active Directory, Microsoft Exchange server, Windows 7+, Office 2010+, Microsoft Hyper-V virtualised environments, HP and Dell server/switch hardware.
*Wireless Network technology and management.
*Knowledge of AV equipment.
*Any experience with education software.
*Full UK driver’s license and transportation as the role may require you to travel between schools.
You must have a DBS issued within the last 12 months and signed up to the update service or be willing to pay GBP53 for a new DBS check that you can take to any education environment.
It is essential that you have relevant science technician experience and can carry out some of the following
-Supporting both candidates and science teachers throughout the day
-Setting up and using the equipment accurately and safely
-Take a proactive approach to work
-Organised and knowledge of the relevant health and safety regulations
-Able to manage the stock control of chemicals and equipment
-Ensure that equipment is properly cleaned and that chemicals and other materials are appropriately stored
