Aspire People are looking to recruit an experienced SEN Teaching Assistant for a Primary school situated in the Walsall area. If you are experienced in working with ASD (Autism Spectrum Disorder) in a school, specialist or care setting then this could be the perfect opportunity for you.

We are working in partnership with a welcoming and inclusive Primary School in Walsall who are looking for an enthusiastic, hard-working and highly motivated Teaching Assistant to provide to one-to-one support for an identified pupil with Autism (ASD).

The school will require and experienced SEN teaching assistant/ Learning support assistant who is:
*Experienced in supporting pupils or adults with Autism and has a strong understanding of how a pupil’s needs can be met within a mainstream setting
*Confident managing challenging behaviour in the classroom and using de-escalation techniques. Team-Teach trained is not essential but would be an advantage.
*Skilled working with pupils with communication difficulties; PECS training would be an advantage but is not essential
*Able to demonstrate the impact you have had on a child’s progress and development.

You would be joining a well establishes, supportive and welcoming SEN support team, where you would be well supported within your role and development would be highly encouraged. The school serves a diverse catchment area with several students on roll from minority ethnic backgrounds who speak English as an additional language. The school have a very harmonious and inclusive education policy in which all students are given the support and skills to succeed in education and beyond.
