Rowley Park Academy Staff Room Renovation

At Aspire People we are all about building long lasting relationships with our schools. One of our promises to schools is that we will always go the extra mileto ensure they receive the best service possible.
Going the extra mile for teachers sometimes involves giving back to schools. Our consultantsregularly participate in events for schools such as fund raisers, selling popcorn and balloons at summer fayres, or movie nights for the schools and children’s entertainment. One of our largest interactions with a school was helping to renovate a previously run-down staffroom and kitchen for a primary school in need.
A Space for Busy Teachers
A longstanding school of ours, Rowley Park Primary Academy, were in desperate need of a new staff room. Aspire People have been working closely with Rowley Park for last 6 years and we thought this was a great opportunity to go the extra mile and give back. It was a pleasure to gift the school with a refreshed staff room space as a thank you to Rowley Park and their other schools within the Victoria Park Academies Trust for using Aspire People as a regular supply service.
The staffroom previously was a room that was un-loved and under-used. The room was uninspiring and didn’t offer the staff a place to relax. The kitchen was old and although clean didn’t look inviting to use due to its age.
We are delighted that the staff are now fully utilising the refreshed room; it offers a warm and inviting space to both relax and work. The new kitchen allows staff to use this area to prepare food, drinks and socialise.
Giving Teaching Staff a Break
Now the new staff room is a hub of activity that is used by all staff members at break times. The room is also used for informal meetings as the staff enjoys its surroundings and comfy seating areas.
We know it is important for teachers to have an area outside of the classroom to relax and help to take their minds off the stress they may be having in the school. A survey in 2016 by The Teachers Union showed that 76% of school staff had experienced work-related anxiousness; therefore we know how important it is to have a break from the classroom with colleagues in a calm area.
At Aspire People we are passionate about working in education. Our team works with the best schools and teaching staff and together we create blogs, tips and insights for educators to help them not only learn but quickly get access to resources and information.
