Daniel Dawkins
DirectorExperience of Recruitment / Education
and / Or Experience Of What You Do
I’ve worked in Education Recruitment for nearly 15 years, having worked in HR for
various sectors before that. The key thing I love about working around
educators is meeting and drawing from the passion Teachers and Teaching
Assistants have for learners. Being a part of getting those people into the right roles is a real privilege.
My experience has allowed me to carry out my role as a chair of governors at a
local SEN school and also assist Birmingham City Council on school Interim
Executive Boards to help improve local schools.
What Do You Do at Aspire People?
As one of Aspire’s Directors, I primarily look after the Marketing, Finance, HR
and Compliance teams. I am a CIPD chartered member, having a Masters in Human
Resource Management. I also help schools and teachers in my capacity’s as a
Chair of Governors, a Multi-Academy Trust Trustee, as well as an Interim
Executive Board member for the Birmingham City Council.
What Do You Get a Kick out of in your
Role?
I am a father, a son, and a brother and like many others, remember my own
teachers and lecturers that made a difference to my life and the life of family
members. Also having a close family member with SEN needs and love the fact
that in Education Recruitment I can work hard helping people who make the
career choice of helping educate learners in my local community.
What Would Your School Report Say?
Oh dear! I’m not sure I want to share this!
I am quoting verbatim when I write “Daniel is a bright, able and likable student
but needs to avoid distractions and not be so cheeky to his teachers!”
I tend not to be so cheeky to teachers anymore.
