SEN Teaching Assistant - 1:1 Support (SEMH) - North Manchester - ASAP StartAre you an experienced SEN Teaching Assistant with a passion for supporting students with Social, Emotional, and Mental Health (SEMH) needs? Do you have the resilience, patience, and dedication to work in a challenging but rewarding environment?
Aspire People are working with a mainstream secondary school in North Manchester is seeking a skilled and experienced SEN Teaching Assistant to provide 1:1 support for a student within the school's Alternative Provision. This is a long-term role with an immediate start, and for the right candidate, it could lead to a permanent opportunity.
The Role:
🔹 1:1 support for a student with SEMH needs within the school's Alternative Provision
🔹 Helping to manage behaviour, engagement, and emotional regulation
🔹 Working closely with teaching staff, pastoral teams, and external professionals
🔹 Creating a nurturing and structured learning environment
🔹 Using de-escalation strategies and tailored support techniques
What We're Looking For:
✅ Previous experience working with SEMH students in a school or alternative provision
✅ A resilient, patient, and adaptable personality
✅ A strong academic background to support student learning
✅ Excellent behaviour management skills
✅ A DBS on the update service and the ability to provide two years of references
