Job Title: Behavioral Teaching AssistantLocation: Derby
Job Type: Full-time, Permanent
Start Date: As soon as possible
Are you passionate about making a positive impact on the lives of students with behavioral challenges in Derby is seeking a dedicated and compassionate Behavioral Teaching Assistant to join our team.
Responsibilities:
Work closely with teaching staff to support the implementation of behavioral strategies for students with diverse needs.
Provide one-on-one and small group support to students with behavioral challenges.
Foster a positive and inclusive learning environment that promotes social and emotional development.
Implement behavior plans and interventions with guidance from the SENCO (Special Educational Needs Coordinator) and teaching staff.
Collaborate with teachers and other support staff to monitor and record student progress.
Support students in developing coping strategies and self-regulation skills.
Communicate effectively with students, parents, and colleagues regarding behavioral progress and strategies.
Qualifications:
Previous experience working with students with behavioral needs is desirable.
Strong interpersonal and communication skills.
Patience, empathy, and the ability to build positive relationships with students.
A commitment to promoting an inclusive and supportive learning environment.
An understanding of behavior management strategies and interventions.
Minimum of GCSEs in English and Mathematics (or equivalent).
Desirable Skills:
Relevant training in behavior management or special education.
Experience working in a school setting.
Ability to adapt and respond to the individual needs of students.
Willingness to participate in relevant professional development opportunities.
