Aspire People are seeking a reliable and enthusiastic Cover Supervisor to join a well-established secondary school in Newcastle-under-Lyme.
Are you looking for an opportunity to work in a secondary school environment, supporting students in their learning and development? Do you have the ability to manage classrooms and maintain a positive, productive atmosphere? If so, we want to hear from you!
Key Responsibilities:
Supervise and manage classrooms during the absence of teaching staff.
Ensure students remain on task and complete set work in a calm and structured environment.
Provide support to students with a variety of learning needs.
Assist with the delivery of pre-prepared lessons, ensuring students follow instructions.
Promote positive behaviour and handle any disruptions in a professional and calm manner.
Liaise with teaching staff and senior leadership to ensure continuity of learning.
Support the pastoral needs of students and contribute to the wider school community.
The Ideal Candidate:
Previous experience in a classroom setting or working with young people is desirable, but not essential.
Strong communication and interpersonal skills, with the ability to engage and manage students effectively.
A proactive, flexible, and positive attitude towards work.
The ability to remain calm under pressure and manage challenging situations.
A commitment to supporting the school's ethos and promoting a positive learning environment.
A willingness to learn and develop in the role.
