Aspire People are currently recruiting for a dedicated and proactive Cover Supervisor to join a supportive secondary school in Stoke-on-Trent. This is an excellent opportunity for someone with strong communication skills and an interest in education to gain experience in a classroom setting.
Key Responsibilities:
Supervise classes across all subjects in the absence of the regular teacher, ensuring students remain on task and engaged in their work.
Manage student behaviour effectively and maintain a positive and respectful classroom environment.
Provide general support to students, helping with their learning and ensuring they complete set tasks.
Ensure that any work left by the absent teacher is followed appropriately, and students are provided with any necessary guidance.
Support the smooth running of the school day by assisting with administrative tasks or covering other areas as required.
Build positive relationships with students and staff, promoting an inclusive and motivating school culture.
Key Requirements:
Experience working with children or young people is desirable, but not essential.
Strong communication and interpersonal skills.
Excellent classroom management abilities and a proactive, positive approach to work.
A passion for education and supporting students to achieve their best.
The ability to remain calm under pressure and handle situations professionally.
A commitment to safeguarding and promoting the welfare of all students.
