About the Role: Aspire People are working with a well-established secondary school in Newcastle-under-Lyme to recruit a dedicated and reliable Cover Supervisor. This is an excellent opportunity for someone looking to work in an engaging school environment, supporting students and ensuring their continued learning during teacher absences.
As a Cover Supervisor, you will be responsible for supervising classes, ensuring students remain on task, and helping to manage classroom behavior in line with the school's policies. This role is ideal for individuals with a passion for education, strong communication skills, and a desire to support young people in their academic journey.
Key Responsibilities:
Supervise classes in the absence of the teacher, ensuring that students are working on the set tasks.
Manage classroom behavior effectively, maintaining a positive learning environment.
Support students individually or in small groups as needed.
Report back to the absent teacher on students' progress and any issues encountered.
Follow school policies and procedures, ensuring the health, safety, and well-being of students at all times.
About You:
Previous experience working with young people or in a school environment is desirable.
Excellent communication and interpersonal skills.
Ability to manage classroom behavior and create a positive, productive environment.
A proactive and adaptable approach to work.
Strong organizational skills with the ability to stay calm under pressure.
A genuine passion for supporting students and education.
