Aspire People are recruiting a passionate and innovative Food Technology Teacher to join a well-established secondary school in South Birmingham. If you have a love for food and design technology, and are committed to inspiring students to develop practical skills and creativity, this could be the perfect opportunity for you!
Key Responsibilities:
Deliver engaging and high-quality Food Technology lessons to Key Stage 3 and 4 students.
Develop and implement an innovative curriculum that encourages creativity, practical skills, and an understanding of nutrition, sustainability, and food safety.
Plan, assess, and deliver a range of lessons that cater to diverse student needs and abilities.
Foster a positive, safe, and productive classroom environment that enables students to thrive and express their ideas.
Monitor and assess student progress, providing constructive feedback to support achievement.
Participate in extra-curricular activities and school events to inspire students outside the classroom.
Collaborate with colleagues in the Design & Technology department to share best practices and enhance the curriculum.
The Ideal Candidate:
A qualified teacher with a relevant degree or qualification in Food Technology, Home Economics, or a related subject.
Previous experience teaching Food Technology at Key Stage 3 and 4 level is highly desirable, though NQTs are welcome to apply.
A passion for food, cooking, and design, with the ability to inspire students through practical and engaging lessons.
Strong classroom management skills and the ability to differentiate for a range of learners.
Excellent organisational and time management skills.
A proactive, positive, and enthusiastic approach to teaching and student development.
A commitment to the school's ethos and a dedication to supporting students both academically and personally.
A PGCE or QTS qualification
A valid DBS clearance
