We have an exciting opportunity for a dedicated educator to join this team as Head of Geography.
About the Role:
This secondary school are seeking an enthusiastic and driven individual to lead the Geography department, ensuring high standards of teaching and learning. The successful candidate will be responsible for developing an engaging curriculum that reflects the cultural and environmental diversity of Redbridge and fostering a learning environment that promotes critical thinking, exploration, and a deep understanding of the world.
Key Responsibilities:
* Lead the Geography department, ensuring effective teaching and learning strategies are in place.
* Develop and implement a broad, balanced, and relevant Geography curriculum.
* Inspire, motivate, and support staff within the department, providing professional development opportunities.
* Monitor and assess student progress, setting high expectations for achievement.
* Work closely with senior leadership to support the school's ethos and vision
* Foster strong relationships with students, parents, and the wider community.
The Ideal Candidate:
* Qualified Teacher Status (QTS) is essential
* Proven experience as a Geography teacher, ideally with leadership experience.
* A passion for Geography, with a strong knowledge of physical and human geography.
* The ability to inspire and motivate both staff and students.
* Excellent organisational and communication skills.
* A commitment to promoting diversity, inclusion, and environmental awareness in the school community.
