KS4 Teacher for Specialist Secondary School (Full-Time)Location: Specialist Secondary Site for Pupils with SEMH, ASD, ADHD, and MLD
Position: Full-Time, Monday to Friday, Term-Time Only
Salary: Competitive, Based on Experience
About the Role: We require a proactive and innovative KS4 Teacher to join a dynamic and supportive team at a Specialist Secondary School catering to pupils with Special Educational Needs and Disabilities, including Social, Emotional, and Mental Health (SEMH), Autism Spectrum Disorder (ASD), Attention Deficit Hyperactivity Disorder (ADHD), and Moderate Learning Disabilities (MLD).
In this full-time role, you will have the opportunity to make a positive and lasting impact on the lives of our students. You will be responsible for planning, preparing, delivering, and marking lessons for smaller class sizes, ensuring a tailored and inclusive approach to each individual student's learning needs.
Key Responsibilities:
- Plan, prepare, and deliver engaging and differentiated lessons to mixed-ability pupils in KS4.
- Provide a supportive and inclusive learning environment that meets the diverse needs of students with SEMH, ASD, ADHD, and MLD.
- Implement effective behavior management strategies, ensuring that students are supported in reaching their full potential.
- Mark work and provide constructive feedback to students to help them progress.
- Foster positive relationships with students, staff, and parents, and create a supportive and safe classroom environment.
- Collaborate with other professionals, including SENCOs and teaching assistants, to ensure a holistic approach to student development.
- Monitor and track student progress, adjusting teaching methods as needed.
Key Requirements:
- Qualified Teacher Status (QTS) or equivalent.
- Experience working with pupils with SEMH, ASD, ADHD, and MLD is highly desirable.
- Excellent communication and interpersonal skills with the ability to build strong relationships with students.
- Strong behavior management skills and a patient, empathetic approach to teaching.
- A flexible and proactive attitude, with the ability to adapt lessons to meet the diverse needs of students.
- A passion for working in a specialist setting and helping students overcome barriers to learning.
- Commitment to promoting the well-being and safeguarding of students.
