Job Title: SEMH Teaching AssistantLocation: Earlswood
Job Type: Full-Time, 5 days per week
Overview: We are seeking a dedicated and empathetic Social, Emotional, and Mental Health (SEMH) Teaching Assistant to join our supportive team in Earlswood. This role involves working closely with students who have SEMH needs, providing tailored support to help them thrive academically and personally.
Key Responsibilities:
* Assist in the development and implementation of individualised support plans for students with SEMH needs.
* Provide one-on-one and small group support to students, both in and out of the classroom.
* Work collaboratively with teachers, SENCOs, and other professionals to ensure cohesive support for students.
* Monitor and report on the progress and development of students, adapting support strategies as needed.
* Foster a positive and inclusive learning environment, promoting the emotional well-being of all students.
* Utilise a variety of techniques to manage and support students' behaviour positively.
* Encourage students to engage in the learning process and develop their social skills.
Requirements:
* Experience working with children or young people with SEMH needs, preferably in an educational setting.
* Strong understanding of SEMH challenges and effective support strategies.
* Excellent communication and interpersonal skills.
* Patience, empathy, and resilience.
* Ability to work collaboratively as part of a team.
* Relevant qualifications in education or child development are desirable.
* Experience in SEMH Settings, working with children, Health and Social Care or Security/ Safeguarding is desirable
