Are you an experienced and passionate Music Teacher with leadership experience? We have an exciting opportunity for a Subject Lead for Music at a well-respected secondary school in Stockport, with excellent facilities. The Role: As the Subject Lead for Music, you will take the reins of the music department, leading the development and implementation of a high-quality music curriculum. You will inspire and support a team of music teachers, ensuring a consistent and effective approach to music education throughout the school. This role offers the opportunity to influence the direction of the department and contribute to the overall educational experience of students.

Key Responsibilities:

Lead and manage the music department, providing vision, direction, and strategic leadership
Develop and deliver an engaging and challenging music curriculum that meets the needs of all students
Inspire and support a team of music teachers, fostering a collaborative and supportive environment
Lead extra-curricular music activities, including school concerts, performances, and clubs
Monitor and evaluate student progress, using data to inform teaching and learning strategies
Ensure the department operates effectively, with a focus on continuous improvement
Maintain strong relationships with students, parents, and colleagues to support student achievement and well-being

Contribute to the wider school community through school events and initiatives
About You:

Qualified Teacher Status (QTS) or equivalent
Extensive experience teaching music at secondary school level, with a strong understanding of the curriculum
Proven leadership experience, either as a Subject Leader or within a team-based teaching environment
A genuine passion for music education and the ability to inspire students of all abilities
Strong organizational, communication, and interpersonal skills
Ability to lead, motivate, and develop a team of teachers
Experience in managing extra-curricular music activities is highly desirable
A commitment to creating an inclusive, engaging, and creative learning environment for all students
