The Role
Aspire People is currently recruiting for a PMLD (Profound and Multiple Learning Disabilities) Specialist to join a well-established school in Northfield starting in January 2025. In this role, you will be working closely with students who have complex learning needs, including PMLD, and providing the highest level of tailored support to help them thrive in an inclusive learning environment.
Key Responsibilities:
* Delivering high-quality, individualized education and care to students with PMLD.
* Creating and implementing bespoke learning plans (IEPs) to meet the diverse needs of each student.
* Collaborating with a multidisciplinary team, including teaching staff and support staff, to provide comprehensive support for students.
* Ensuring the emotional, physical, and educational welfare of all students is met.
* Promoting independence and personal development in a nurturing, supportive environment.
* Maintaining a safe, engaging, and inclusive classroom atmosphere.
The Ideal Candidate:
* Experience working with students with PMLD, ASD, and other complex learning needs.
* A relevant qualification in teaching or special educational needs (e.g., SEND, PMLD, or ASD training).
* Excellent communication skills, with the ability to adapt to different student needs.
* A compassionate, patient, and proactive approach to teaching and learning.
* Ability to work independently and as part of a collaborative team.
* Enhanced DBS on the update service is essential for this role.
