Contract: Fixed-term (06/01/2025 - 11/04/2025)
Position: Full-time
We are seeking an experienced and dedicated Fully Qualified Teacher to join our SEND Hub at a welcoming and supportive mainstream primary school in Kidderminster. This role is an exciting opportunity to work with children who have Special Educational Needs and Disabilities (SEND), specifically those with Social, Emotional, and Mental Health (SEMH) needs and autism spectrum disorder (ASD). The position is for the spring term, starting January 6th, 2025, and ending April 11th, 2025.
About the Role:
* Class Size: 6-8 children in the SEND Hub.
* Key Focus: Supporting children with SEMH and ASD, tailoring lessons and interventions to meet individual needs.
* Behaviour Management: Managing and supporting children prone to meltdowns and aggressive behaviour, using de-escalation techniques and a calm, structured approach.
* Collaboration: Work closely with a team of teaching assistants, support staff, and other professionals to create an inclusive, positive learning environment.
* Progress Monitoring: Track and monitor student progress, adapting teaching strategies as needed to ensure success.
The Ideal Candidate Will:
* Hold QTS (Qualified Teacher Status) and have experience working with children with SEMH and/or ASD.
* Be confident in managing challenging behaviour and responding to incidents of aggression and meltdowns with patience and professionalism.
* Have strong communication skills, with the ability to build positive relationships with children, colleagues, and parents.
* Be adaptable, creative, and solution-focused, with a commitment to providing the best possible learning environment for every child.
* Have experience or a keen interest in implementing personalised learning strategies and behaviour interventions.
