Psychology Teaching Assistant - HounslowContract type: Permanent (contracted positions may also be available for the right candidate)
Start date: September 2025 (earlier starts may be available)
Hours: 8.30am - 4pm approximately
Salary: £19,500 - £26,000
Are you a Psychology graduate looking to enter the world of teaching or educational psychology?
Psychology Teaching Assistant - responsibilities:
As a Psychology Teaching Assistant, you will work closely with primary and/or secondary pupils who have learning difficulties including autism, dyslexia and SEMH difficulties.
Your role will involve:
* Providing 1:1 and small group support to students in the classroom - mainly English and Maths support.
* Assisting with the implementation of EHCPs (Education, Health, and Care Plans).
* Supporting pupils with emotional difficulties.
* Helping to create a positive and inclusive learning environment.
* Collaborating with external practitioners to support pupils in their therapy sessions.
* Encouraging independence and confidence in students.
Psychology Teaching Assistant - the school:

Psychology Teaching Assistant - requirements:
* A 2:1 or above from a top UK university - Psychology graduates are desirable
* Experience working with young people in either a formal or informal setting
* Excellent communication skills
* Positive personality and eager to learn
* A good understanding of SEN strategies and interventions - potential is key
* Basic knowledge of Makaton, PECs or BSL
* Aspiring teacher or Educational Psychologist
