Pupil Support Assistant - Specialist SEN Academy📍 Location: Shropshire
🕘 Hours: Full-Time | Monday to Friday | Term Time Only

About the Setting:
We are working in partnership with a Specialist Academy in Shropshire that provides a tailored education for children and young people with a wide range of learning difficulties and disabilities. The school is a nurturing and inclusive environment that promotes independence, personal growth, and academic development through bespoke learning pathways.
Pupils on site may have needs such as:
- Moderate to Severe Learning Difficulties (MLD/SLD)
- Autism Spectrum Disorder (ASD)
- Speech, Language and Communication Needs (SLCN)
- Physical Disabilities and Sensory Needs
- Associated behavioural and emotional needs
About the Role:
As a Pupil Support Assistant, you will be an essential part of the classroom team, working closely with Teachers, Therapists, and Support Staff to ensure each pupil receives the personalised support they need.
Your responsibilities will include:
- Providing one-to-one or small group support for pupils in and out of the classroom
- Assisting with learning activities and adapting materials to suit individual learning styles
- Supporting pupils with personal care and mobility where required
- Encouraging independence, communication, and social interaction
- Creating a safe, calm, and engaging learning environment for all pupils
What We're Looking For:
We are seeking someone who is:
- Enthusiastic, committed, and passionate about inclusive education
- Experienced in working with children with SEN (school-based or personal experience considered)
- Ideally holds a relevant qualification (e.g., CACHE Level 2/3 in Supporting Teaching and Learning, or equivalent - desirable but not essential)
- A clear communicator, both verbally and non-verbally
- Resilient, patient, and adaptable - no two days are the same!
- A team player who is reliable and takes initiative
