Job Opportunity: Qualified SEN Teaching Assistant - Level 2 or Level 3Location: Worcestershire
Position: Full-time,
Aspire Recruitment are seeking a qualified Level 2 or Level 3 Teaching Assistant to join a well-established special school in Worcester. This is an exciting opportunity to support children with a range of Special Educational Needs (SEN), including Social, Emotional and Mental Health (SEMH), Autism, Behavioural Challenges, and Moderate Learning Difficulties (MLD).
About the Role:
As a SEN Teaching Assistant, you will work closely with students aged 5-16 who have an Education, Health and Care Plan (EHCP). You will provide tailored support to help these students access the curriculum, build essential life skills, and achieve their full potential. You will be part of a dedicated team that provides exceptional pastoral care, ensuring every child feels supported and valued.
Key Responsibilities:
* Support students in the classroom, ensuring they can access lessons and activities effectively
* Assist in the development and implementation of individual learning plans (ILPs)
* Provide emotional and behavioural support to students with SEMH or other additional needs
* Work closely with teachers to create and deliver differentiated learning activities
* Monitor and track student progress, providing feedback and guidance
* Support the inclusion of students in both academic and social settings
What We're Looking For:
* Level 2 or Level 3 Teaching Assistant qualification (or equivalent)
* Previous experience working with children with SEN (experience with SEMH, MLD, Autism is highly desirable)
* Patience, empathy, and a proactive approach to supporting students
* Ability to work as part of a team, as well as independently
* Strong communication skills and the ability to adapt to students' individual needs
* An understanding of safeguarding and commitment to promoting children's welfare
