Learning Support Assistant (Secondary School) - StockportAspire People are seeking a dedicated and compassionate Learning Support Assistant (LSA) to join a vibrant secondary school in Stockport. A successful candidate will play a crucial role in supporting students with special educational needs (SEN) or other barriers to learning, ensuring they have access to the full curriculum and are able to achieve their full potential. This is an exciting opportunity for someone passionate about education and committed to making a difference in the lives of young people.
This is a full-time role on a long term basis and you will be working along side other candidates from Aspire People.
Key Responsibilities:
* Provide one-to-one or small group support to students with SEN or additional needs, both inside and outside the classroom.
* Work closely with teachers to adapt lesson materials and support differentiated learning for students who require extra help.
* Assist with classroom management, ensuring students are engaged, focused, and following the school's behaviour expectations.
* Support students' social, emotional, and academic development, offering encouragement and guidance where needed.
* Help students develop independent learning strategies and boost their confidence in completing tasks.
* Promote an inclusive environment, ensuring that all students feel supported and valued within the school community.
Requirements:
* UK Experience working with children or young people in an educational setting, ideally within a secondary school environment.
* A genuine passion for supporting students with SEN or additional needs, ensuring they receive equal opportunities to succeed.
* Excellent communication skills and the ability to build positive relationships with students, teachers, and parents.
* Strong organisational skills and the ability to adapt to different situations quickly and effectively.
* Ability to work as part of a team, contributing to the school's inclusive and supportive ethos.
* Patience, empathy, and a positive attitude towards helping students overcome challenges.
All candidates who register with Aspire People will have 2 years referencing taken up and will be required to have an enhanced DBS check completed and must be on the update service.
