SEND Specialist Teaching Assistant - RochdaleStart ASAP - Until End of Academic Year (with view to go Permanent)
Are you an experienced SEND Specialist TA with expertise in supporting children with ASC, ADHD, SEMH, and challenging behaviours?
We are currently seeking a dedicated and passionate Teaching Assistant to join a caring and forward thinking SEN Team, in a dynamic school in Rochdale, starting immediately.

Contract Length: Until the end of the academic year, with the potential to go permanent
Pay: Competitive, based on experience
About the School:
This opportunity is based in a large, modern, and well-facilitated secondary school with an on-site alternative provision. The school offers a supportive and inclusive environment where students can thrive, and the alternative provision is tailored to meet the needs of those requiring additional support in their learning.
Responsibilities:
- Provide 1:1 and group support for students with Special Educational Needs, including Autism Spectrum Condition (ASC), ADHD, Social, Emotional and Mental Health (SEMH) needs, and challenging behaviours.
- Assist in the development and delivery of personalised learning plans.
- Offer behavioural support and ensure students are engaged, safe, and supported in their learning environment.
- Work closely with the class teacher and other professionals to track progress and adapt teaching strategies.
Requirements:
- Previous experience as a SEND Specialist TA, particularly with ASC, ADHD, SEMH, and challenging behaviours.
- A valid DBS on the Update Service, or the ability to obtain one immediately.
- Passion for supporting children with SEND and a commitment to making a positive difference in their educational journey.
- Strong communication skills and the ability to work effectively within a team.
- Experience in a similar role is essential.
