Aspire People are delighted to be recruiting a highly skilled and compassionate Special Educational Needs Teaching Assistant (SENTA) to join a dynamic primary school in Leicester (LE3). This is a full-time, long-term role, offering a competitive daily rate of £90-£105, depending on qualifications and experience. The successful candidate will be responsible for providing tailored support to students with a variety of special educational needs (SEN) and ensuring they have the tools and encouragement needed to thrive in their educational journey.

Key Responsibilities:

Provide Individual Support: Work closely with students with SEN on a one-to-one and small group basis to support their academic, social, and emotional development.

Collaborate with Teachers and SENCO: Assist the class teacher and SENCO in planning and delivering tailored interventions and support plans for students.

Support Inclusion: Ensure that all students with SEN feel included and engaged within the mainstream classroom setting by adapting resources and approaches as necessary.

Promote Wellbeing: Help foster a positive and supportive environment where students feel safe, valued, and empowered to achieve their potential.

Track and Report Progress: Assist in monitoring and documenting student progress, providing feedback to teachers, and identifying further support needs as required.

Behaviour Management: Implement strategies to support students in managing behaviour and promoting positive interactions with peers.

Essential Requirements:

Experience: Demonstrable experience working in a UK primary school setting, particularly with children who have special educational needs.

Qualifications: Level 2 Teaching Assistant qualification (or equivalent) is desirable, although candidates with relevant experience are also encouraged to apply.

DBS: A DBS check on the update service or willingness to undergo a new check is essential.
Skills & Attributes:

A proactive, empathetic approach to supporting children with SEN.

Strong communication skills, with the ability to engage children and collaborate with colleagues.

Ability to adapt teaching strategies to meet individual student needs.

Patient, caring, and resilient, with a passion for working with children to help them succeed.

Please Note: This is a full-time role, so applicants must be available for the duration of the placement.
