Job Role: Spanish Modern Foreign Language Lead for a Secondary School in Perry BarrLocation: Perry Barr, Birmingham
Contract Type: Full-Time
Aspire People is excited to announce an opportunity for an inspiring and dedicated Spanish Modern Foreign Language Lead at a vibrant secondary school in Perry Barr. We are looking for a devoted educator with a passion for Spanish language and culture to lead and shape the delivery of Modern Foreign Languages (MFL) across the school. This is a fantastic chance for an experienced MFL teacher to take on a leadership role and make a lasting impact on the language learning experience of students.
Key Responsibilities:
Lead the Spanish department, developing and delivering high-quality teaching and learning across Key Stage 3 and Key Stage 4.
Inspire students to engage with the Spanish language, enhancing their fluency, cultural understanding, and global awareness.
Develop and implement strategies to improve student outcomes and promote a love of languages.
Manage and mentor MFL staff, providing guidance, support, and professional development opportunities.
Collaborate with school leadership to refine the MFL curriculum, ensuring it meets the needs of all learners.
Monitor and evaluate the progress of students, identifying areas for improvement and implementing targeted interventions.
Lead extracurricular activities, including language clubs, trips, and cultural events, to enhance students' language experiences.
The Ideal Candidate:
A qualified teacher with QTS (or equivalent) and a degree in Spanish, Modern Foreign Languages, or a related subject.
Proven experience teaching Spanish at secondary level, with a strong understanding of the MFL curriculum.
Strong leadership skills with experience in managing a team, fostering collaboration, and driving continuous improvement.
Passionate about languages and dedicated to inspiring students to reach their full potential.
Excellent communication, organisational, and interpersonal skills.
Ability to inspire and motivate both students and colleagues, creating a positive and supportive department culture.
A DBS on the update service or the willingness to purchase one through Aspire People.
