Job Title: SEN Teaching Assistant (Year 7 Support)Location: North Manchester, Secondary School
About the Role:
We are seeking a compassionate, dedicated, and experienced SEN Teaching Assistant to support a wonderful Year 7 pupil at a secondary school in North Manchester. This pupil requires someone who can build rapport quickly, offering the support and encouragement needed to help him overcome barriers to learning and boost his confidence. If you're passionate about making a real difference to a student's education and have experience supporting children with additional needs, we'd love to hear from you.

Location: North Manchester
Position: Full-time, Monday to Friday
Start Date: ASAP
Support Needed: One-to-one support for a Year 7 pupil
School Environment: Supportive and forward-thinking SENCO team, with excellent resources
Role Overview:
- Support a Year 7 pupil with additional needs to help him bridge the significant gaps in his education.
- Focus on building the pupil's confidence and motivation, using his love for football as a way to engage him.
- Help him develop strategies to overcome learning barriers and catch up to his peers academically.
- Foster a positive and trusting relationship with the pupil, ensuring a safe, supportive, and inclusive learning environment.
- Work closely with the school's SENCO team to provide tailored support and adapt to the pupil's needs.
- Offer consistent encouragement, helping the pupil to build on his strengths and reach his full potential.
Ideal Candidate:
- Experience working as a Teaching Assistant, ideally with students who have additional needs.
- Ability to build rapport quickly and effectively, especially with students who may need extra support to feel confident in the classroom.
- Strong understanding of how to support students with significant learning gaps and build their confidence.
- A good sense of humour and the ability to engage a pupil who has a bright personality and loves football.
- A proactive, patient, and empathetic approach to working with students.
- Enhanced DBS check (or willingness to undergo one).
