Job Overview:
Josh of Aspire People is seeking a passionate and dedicated Full-Time Teaching Assistant to join a whimsical schools Foundation Stage team, working with children in the Early Years Foundation Stage (EYFS) with emphasis on working with 2 children with ASD and hearing impairments.
The role will focus on supporting children with special educational needs (SEN), particularly those who are non-verbal and have Autism Spectrum Disorder (ASD) or hearing impairments.
Key Responsibilities:
* Support the learning and development of non-verbal children, particularly those with ASD and hearing impairments.
* Help develop and implement strategies to increase communication and social engagement.
* Assist with creating an inclusive learning environment that caters to the needs of all students.
* Provide one-on-one or small group support to children as required.
* Work closely with class teachers, SENCO, and other staff to plan and deliver individualised education plans (IEPs).
* Foster a nurturing environment that encourages positive behaviours and supports emotional and social development.
* Participate in assessments and monitor children's progress.
* Ensure the safety and well-being of all students in your care.
The Ideal Candidate Will Have:
* Experience working with non-verbal children or those with ASD and hearing impairments.
* A calm and patient approach, with the ability to engage children who may have additional needs.
* A passion for supporting children's communication development.
* Understanding of EYFS curriculum and child development.
* Good communication and interpersonal skills.
* A commitment to safeguarding and promoting the welfare of children.
* A positive and proactive attitude to working as part of a team.
Qualifications:
* Minimum of a child related degree or equivalent in a relevant field.
* Relevant experience supporting children with special educational needs, particularly in early years settings, is desirable but not essential.
* A Level 3 Teaching Assistant qualification or equivalent is preferred but not essential.
